Cotton club for recyclers
Written by Tali Goldberg
I love being on the pulse of what’s new when it comes to fashion trends, health food crazes, and hot restaurants in town, which is why I was so excited when I found PlayBack. It’s an eco-friendly line of sustainable clothing — each t-shirt is made with recycled materials, including the equivalent of nearly nine 20-ounce plastic soda bottles, keeping trash out of landfills. Even better, the clothes are stylish with a capital S! Throw on one of their recycled cotton t-shirts with a statement necklace and jeans or try one of their two-toned hoodies over a skirt with boots, and you’re all set.
Sure, PlayBack is eco-conscious and fashion forward, but even better, it’s affordable. T-shirts run from $20-$22, while sweatshirts are $55 (one style for men is $35), and jackets are under $100. Maybe it’s no surprise then, that though I thought I was a pioneer, this line has a ton of fans already. They even have a celeb contingent, including Katie Holmes, Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Jon Mayer, and Bon Jovi.
I like these duds so much that I’m willing to be the follower (just this once!). Visit playbackclothing.com to check it out for yourself — and maybe knock a couple of people off your holiday shopping list.
