Low-fat, delicious granOla
Written by Rachel Berman
Even though I used to be “crunchy,” I never ate granola. It’s super nutrient dense, is typically loaded with fat (even though it’s mostly unsaturated, fat is still fat), and has lots of carbohydrate (having 1 cup is about the same as eating 4 slices of bread). Low-fat variety or not, I usually don’t love the taste unless it’s coated with sugar and combined with dried fruit or chocolate — and served over four scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. Just kidding on the last part. But in all seriousness, all-natural low-fat granola? Come on. But I have to admit, Ola Granola proved me wrong. Of course I tried it, since I try basically every single food product on the shelf, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love. Now though, my morning Greek yogurt is almost always graced by the presence of Ola. About ¼ cup of the vanilla almond flavor (110 calories, 4 g fat, 0 g saturated fat, 3 g fiber, 4 g protein) is all I need to spice up my breakfast and give me a little energy. A really simple blend of oat clusters, almonds, pure vanilla, and maple, it’s truly delightful. It’s not sold many places yet (though I have a feeling it will be soon), but you can always find it online. Just remember, you heard about it here first!
Now, for those of you trying to lose weight, granola may not be your best bet — you can typically get more fiber and fewer carbs from many cereals out there. However, if you’re like me, the type of gal who eats healthy foods just to feel good, try some Ola… ola, ola, eh, eh?

Another good choice is Bear Naked Vanilla Almond Crunch.
It has only 120 calories, 2.5 g fat, 0 sat fat, 2g
fiber, and 4g protein. And it tastes great as-is!
